May 2013 - The Power and Electricity - West Africa Conference will be held from 27 -30 May in Accra, Ghana.
Aimed at bringing together West Africa's power sector leaders to design and implement the course of power and electricity for 2013 and beyond, the conference seeks to address issues of privatization, and transmission, distribution and infrastructure of the power sector in West Africa.
Emmanuel Ackom from UNEP Risø Centre and Programme Manager – GNESD will be one of the key note speakers at the Conference.
As the West African economies are booming, industrialization is moving at a fast pace. The conference will seek to address if the power sector can support this rapid expansion.
