GNESD makes keynote presentation at International Conference on Domestic Use of Energy

April 2013: GNESD was invited to give the keynote talk on ‘South-South Experiential Lessons in Biofuel Sustainability’ at the Domestic Use of Energy (DUE) conference held on 2-4 April, 2013 in Cape Town, South Africa.



Organized by the Cape Peninsula University of Technology, the theme for this year’s conference was ‘Relieving Pressure on the Grid’ so as to focus on ways to reduce the pressure on the electrical grid by initiatives such as improving energy efficiency, fuel switching, renewable energy and mini-grids.

The ‘Domestic Use of Energy’ conference has, over the past 21 years, presented a forum for professionals, practitioners and end-users in all fields of domestic energy to discuss the latest developments in the effective use of energy in the residential sector.

This year the topics covered at the conference included Customer needs, Domestic Appliances, Energy Efficiency in the home, Electrification, mini-grids & smart grids, Demand-side Management, Energy Policies, Energy Audits and M&V, Renewable Energy, Water heating, Air-conditioning, heat pumps, Smart Home Technology, and Tariffs and Metering.
