Energy Access theme, Dissemination Phase (Energy Access II)

16 October 2003 The GNESD Interim Steering Committee  decided to initiate an additional theme within the Energy Access field focusing on dissemination of the Access results. The theme builds on the work carried out on in the original GNESD Working Group for "Energy Access, Policy Research". Phase two of the Energy Access theme consists of three interlinked parts:

• Data collation and compilation.

• The preparation of journal articles for publication in a special issue of the IEI publication Energy for Sustainable Development (ESD) .

• The preparation of papers for the 2004 International Conference for Renewable Energies in Bonn, Germany.

The Special Issue of the ESD Journal shown here went online in December 2004 at the IEI website http://www.ieiglobal.org/vol8_issue4.html. The papers for the 2004 International Conference for Renewable Energies in Bonn, Germany are available from each Member Centre.

The remaining component of the Dissemination Phase, Data collation and compilation,  is currently targeted for use among the Member Centres. All 9 developing country Centres participate in the Energy Access II Working Group.  The theme coordinator for this theme was Steven Karekezi of AFREPREN, Kenya.
